Before an email is sent, it will undergo checks that may influence the time it is sent. The email server will determine if the sender is authorized to send the message. The spam prevention program will determine if the message can be considered spam. The message will enter the server's mail queue and wait to be sent. Then, the same steps will be taken by the recipient's mail server when the message is received.

All of this happens very quickly and the delivery time of a message is usually under a minute. However, it can take a few minutes/hours in the following cases:

  • a high number of verification emails on either of the two servers (sender / recipient) (congestion on equipment)
  • a network congestion
  • a high number of checks performed by any of the servers (antispam, DKIM, SPF, DMARC, etc.)

If the delay is caused by an issue with our server or the recipient's, you will receive a report in your inbox detailing the encountered problems. You can forward this email to us for a thorough check.
